Healthcare giant chooses Univix

Smith & Nephew, the multi-national healthcare devices giant, has chosen Vixensoft's Univix solution to modernise the management of its hospital equipment servicing operation in the UK. Recognising the advantages afforded by resource planning applications and mobile data technology, the company attended the SME exhibition at the NEC with the intention of sourcing a suitable solution and, after later demonstrations, chose Univix as their preferred service management solution.

Russell Barton, Sales & Marketing Manager (Service) at Smith & Nephew, explained why the company chose Vixensoft’s Univix solution. “The software provides a simple, effective and affordable package that will enhance the performance of our expanding field service team. I have been impressed with the Univix solution and also the approach of the company. Vixensoft has been extremely flexible to our requirements and very responsive when feeding back information. I am very optimistic about the outcome of this venture and the positive impact it will have for our customers”.

The new system will be used to manage the work of Smith & Nephew engineers servicing endoscopy equipment at hospitals across the UK.

The company’s endoscopy business unit is the world leader in arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery for articulating joints. The company offers surgeons instruments for access to joints, cameras to help allow visualization inside the joint, and state-of-the-art blades for resecting tissue alongside specialised devices to repair damaged tissue. Servicing of equipment is a vital component in the continued delivery of equipment of the highest quality.
