Smith & Nephew, the multi-national healthcare devices
giant, has chosen Vixensoft's Univix solution to modernise
the management of its hospital equipment servicing operation
in the UK. Recognising the advantages afforded by resource
planning applications and mobile data technology, the company
attended the SME exhibition at the NEC with the intention
of sourcing a suitable solution and, after later demonstrations,
chose Univix as their preferred service management solution.

The new system will be used to manage the work of Smith
& Nephew engineers servicing endoscopy equipment at
hospitals across the UK.
The company’s endoscopy business unit is the world
leader in arthroscopy, minimally invasive surgery for articulating
joints. The company offers surgeons instruments for access
to joints, cameras to help allow visualization inside the
joint, and state-of-the-art blades for resecting tissue
alongside specialised devices to repair damaged tissue.
Servicing of equipment is a vital component in the continued
